Big hirundine day at Farmoor. Masses of birds. No attempt at a count

40 Arctic Terns at 16.45. most left quite quickly, just a few remaining by early evening.
20 Common Terns.

Cuckoo: m. This evening. FOY here though might be same bird had near my house all week, see comment under cormorant.
2 Cormorant: For last couple of weeks at least 1 taken to perching for long periods very high in tree on south shore. Didn't think much of it. This evening cuckoo landed in tree. Through scope I could see huge cormorant nest on branch above singing cuckoo. With sitting cormorant in situ. Note to self to be more observant.
