East Challow: 27th October

One of East Challow’s many house sparrows in the early sunshine

 

Farmoor (06:45-10:00, mostly Viz Mig)

Dabbling Duck sps. approx. 230 in about 12 flocks high over the res from first light until about 8am. Mostly Wigeon from what i could see, also at least 6 Shoveler. Likely some Teal and pos some Pintail. All moving south and showing no interest in landing. 

Woodpigeon - 429 (s). A broad front of generally small flocks, the movement was over by about 08:45

A dream patch find. A Yellow-browed Warbler in trees between Boundary Brook and the Churchill Hospital at 09:15 this morning. It was very mobile and was seen briefly twice, around here. Blog write-up is here.
