There has been a Peregrine Falcon perched on top of Bliss Mill today. Present until 14:11 at least. Seen by recent local hero Steve Akers

  1. Hi, I believe the Peregrine is an adult female.I first saw her on the lower ledge of the Bliss Mill chimney approx 10.30 this morning. I have been watching all day, together with Colin and staff from Morris Photographic. It's a beautiful bird and showing really well. Hopefully, there will be a photo available. The bird was still present and showing well up until dusk. Only time it showed much movement and started calling was when we had an overflight of an adult and a juvenile Red Kite! The first time I have ever seen them over the Common. The Peregrine looked set to roost for the night. Hopefully will still be there tomorrow morning. Any birders who want to link up with me to go and view, give me a ring on 07903 870695. All the best, Steve Akers
