  3. Lucky enough to hear the Bittern booming on Sunday. heard it about six times and mainly three calls each set.

  4. Yes this is really exciting news, we’re trying to establish when the last boomer was heard in the county, but it is looking like this one might be the first for a couple of centuries. He was booming loud and repeatedly again this morning.
    Thanks for the info Bob, we’ll add it into our records. We are going to be monitoring when and where the bittern is booming from, so if people are able to continue emailing sightings and any records of booming locations to us that would be much appreciated otmoor.admin@rspb.org.uk
