Otmoor. 4th April.

Vanellus Vanellus Giganticus.

Only now after security clearance can I reveal the sighting of this rare species.
This secretive creature appears but once a year and is gone in no time at all.
It is reputed to be endemic to Otmoor  only. It has been suggested that it could
be a distant relative of the Moa and also the Roc (of Sinbad fame). I feel that I
have been humbled and privileged to have seen this majestic creature.
