Headington 28th September

Headington Hill
2 Raven: Was suprised and delighted as I've never seen Ravens in Oxford before or anywhere this far west... Do you know if they are often seen locally and how far west their territory now extends?. SU533065. 15:00.

  1. Hi Miriam,
I see ravens over our garden in North Oxford two or three times a year, which is only two or three miles away from Headington. Occasionally I've seen groups of up to 5 circling very high on thermals, often with a buzzard or two doing the same. More often though its a cronk, a quick dash to the window from me, and a fly by! Great birds. Steve

  2. I see them quite often along the Ridgeway above East Hendred. There's also a group that live around St Botolphs church in Swyncombe. I have only ever seen them once over Didcot. One of my favorite birds.
