Standlake Pit 60 30th September


4 Little Stint: juvs. Seen at distance in atrocious wet and v windy weather. Distant and flighty. The largest bird seems to lack split supercilium and has longer bill but otherwise ok for Little. (Much!) Better views in better weather desired! 17:51.

Standlake Pit 60: 26th September

Standlake Pit 60
2 Dunlin: juvs. Flew in during a shower, along with a ringed Plover. Came in from ESE. After an interlude to see the Common Nighthawk (!), I came back. A flock of c7-10 small waders flew in late afternoon. Seen briefly but lost to view. Probably ringed plovers and dunlin: maybe hidden behind shoreline. 22:15.
3 Pintail: Possibly 4. One is an eclipse male . 22:15.
3 Yellow-legged Gull: 2 ad and 1 juv. 22:15.
Grey Wagtail: Battling into wind. 22:15.
Meadow Pipit: Feeding on shoreline then flew west. 22:15.
Ringed Plover: Flew in with 2 dunlin. All 3 feeding on shore. 22:15.

COMMON NIGHTHAWK
 juvenile female present until c18:55 when it flew off strongly south.
It spent all day sat on a fence in the back garden of number 7 Springfield Road and unsurprisingly 
represents the first record for Oxfordshire.
A good few thousand was collected, with money being split between Little Foxes Wildlife Hospital
and the Spinal injuries department.

Yellow-browed Warbler in the Trap Grounds though mobile and elusive. Loosely associating with a mobile Tit flock and calling and being seen periodically. 

Found by Phil Barnett. Last seen & heard 16:14pm (Ollie Padget et. al)

Trap Grounds are here. Parking for a few cars in Aristotle Lane, otherwise park in Walton Well Rd car park and walk north along the canal.
