Cholsey: 11th April

Cholsey
4 Raven: First heard a couple of 'cronks' from a single bird at 07:30, nr Waterloo Bridge, seemed to be E, maybe over Thames. Then, at 08:20, on track from Papist Way over hill to Silly Bridge, 2 birds together and two singles (they headed W), one of which joined the pair briefly. Followed by 15 minutes of display from the pair, starting over the West End area, tumbling and displaying over the village, gradually working their way E [vaguely over Papist Way], gaining much height. No cronking during the display, but some plaintiff musical notes. Quite extraordinary sight, and the highlight of a rather unproductive circuit - where are the warblers...? SU5885. 08:20.
