10 Cattle Egret: Still present this time amongst cattle on dried floods close to Aristotle Lane gate. After a while they flew up the meadow towards Wolvercote. Later saw at least 8 amongst another group of cattle galf way to Wolvercote. 13:15.

Wantage: Lark Hill: 21st September
Wryneck: Emerged from the long grass to cross the chalk track. Then flew down toward the dip just beyond the rose hip bush. Further sightings up until early evening. 14:30.
Wheatear: Feeding in stubble field on left of the chalk track approx 200 yards downhill from the Wryneck's location. Very active and then perched atop dead tree and elder bushes before swooping down to feed. 14:30.

WRYNECK still present 17:51 (per Thomas Miller) along main track c 400m past derelict farm buildings along the Lark Hill track in a small clump of half a dozen trees along the main track as it starts to slope downhill (about here). Found by Steve Jennings and Paul Jepson at 9 a.m it initially showed on the path every 5 or 10 minutes. From 10am till 1pm it was showing about once per hour (Gnome & Badger).

PURPLE HERON - 1 juv. Seen at 19:45 as it flew low across the path by the bridge heading south towards the Grand Cascade (i.e. flying away from the island on Queens Pool).
Cattle Egret - at least 15 came in to the island to roost, mixture of adults and juvs.
Great White Egret - 1 feeding in marsh at the Woodstock end of Queens Pool, then roosted on the island.
Little Egret - 10 roosting in with the Cattle Egrets
Mandarin - 1 female on the Great Lake

This Black headed Gull seen at the reservoir on 4th September was ringed as a chick on 7th August at Wal Ruda: Zwirownia,GM. Radlow, Malopolskie, Poland and had travelled 1554 kms from its birthplace to Farmoor
