Starling roost now estimated at over 40,000 birds.
Very mobile between northern and southern reedbeds but no massive display.

Great Grey Shrike

Great Grey Shrike again between Balscote and Alkerton 13:50-14:20
About here

Take A422 from Banbury then take the first left after the Balscote Quarry turn
signed to Alkerton. View quarry from first set of double gates on the right.

This afternoon the Shrike spent much of its time hunting along the far hedge which
borders the quarry and the A422.

Farmoor: 15th November - Caspian Gull

 
This 2nd winter Caspian Gull was a surprise find seeing as there were so few gulls in the roost.

Oxford, 12th November - Black Redstart

A female Black Redstart was seen briefly by Martin Townsend (the county moth recorder) in his garden in south-east Oxford on Tuesday. It may be worth checking out some likely spots near by.
