Cetti's Warbler (Orchard Lake)
From Radley, drive down Thrupp Road/Lane. Park here at shaded junction just after passing entrance to aggregates plant . Walk SSE alongside Thrupp Lake to junction of lane with old railway line. Follow cycleway WSW to next junction with very large metal gate on left side. Turn left here and 'Lakes' H/I are one - continuous - area of developing shrub & woodland of birch and willow, surrounded by the chain-link fence on an embankment ahead; with the un-fenced Orchard Lake below. Follow the chain-link fence past Orchard Lake and continue to follow as it turns left.
After c300metres, a wide level track (shown on map) is visible, with a small reedbed immediately beyond (shown as tiny lake on the map). Still following the chain-link fence, continue c150 metres to reach the area where the Wryneck is frequenting. Between here and on to just beyond the series of galvanised railings on the embankment. It flies into the larger willows when not feeding on the well vegetated slope of the embankment. To return to car, follow the fence line anti-clockwise back to the old railway line and on to the cycleway..
