Short-eared Owls & Hen Harrier
Bury Down/Cow Down: At least 7 (but probably double figures) short-eared owls seen flying and perching in tops of scrubby trees at junction of Bury Down Ridgeway and the Cow Down gallops. A ringtail harrier seen briefly in valley to north of this area.
Having read this I braved the elements and can confirm that the owls are still there! Well worth 2.5hrs in the driving rain! Also a female Hen Harrier affording excellent views...
Fantastic!
