Port Meadow: 8th March





 (Probable) Siberian Chiffchaff today near Burgess field gate. Ringed on right leg with silver ring. Bird unfortunately not calling for confirmation - anyone who knows please confirm!

  1. Looks good to me. One of the distinctive features of Siberian Chiffchaff in early spring is that they undergo a partial moult so often look a bit scruffy in comparison to collybita at this time of year - other than general plumage tone etc matching this is also visible on this bird.     1. Thanks for the link. Yes it certainly was the case that this bird was distinctly more scruffy looking than all the other common Chiffchaff that were around nearby.
