and just down the road at Rushy Common, the male Long tailed Duck was showing well from the car park

0730-1130hrs

Osprey 1  -  found by Paul Butler at 0825. It caught a sizeable Rainbow Trout from F1 which it took to eat on the perimeter track near the water works. It managed to consume the head of the fish before it was mugged by two  Carrion Crows and abandoned the fish and flew further round F1 to briefly land on the wall before flying off to the North.

The second image would appear to show the Osprey is unringed

Merlin 1f @ 0800 -flew through low over F2 making an unsuccesssful tilt at a Sand Martin before hurtling over the causeway and across the far end of F1 heading North.

3 Raven: Calling heard for 10 mins, finally seen low over fields twrds Lowbury Hill/Juniper valley area. Almost certainly crossing boundary between Oxon and Berks. SU523822. 16:00.

2 Stonechat: Both males, one in scrub nr the grey Barn/House, another just West along the concrete road on power wires. SU5282. 16:30.
