Merlin: fem. Whilst a Male Sparrowhawk took the attention of the c100 strong Greenfinch roost, the Merlin shot through like a rocket grabbing a Greenfinch and then was briefly pursued by the Spar hoping she would drop her catch before giving up and flying back over the Greenfinch roost but to no avail. An explosive few seconds of great excitement. 16:38.
100 Greenfinch: The roost adjacent to my garden ha been holding at least this number of birds for the last couple of months. 16:38.
Brambling: male. Feeding with Chaffinch flock on my lawn. 1st for winter here. 16:38.
