Standlake Pit 60: 11th April

Standlake Pit 60
2 Ring-necked Duck: m n f. Remain with tufted flock. High water seems to suit them and tufted, but not eg Pochards, goldeneye which down to v low single figures. Teal 100+ v small numbers of other dabbling ducks. Garganey awol at times. Not present mid pm. 18:07.
5 Oystercatcher: Resting together (migrants?). 18:07.
7 Willow Warbler: Singers in loop Langley Lane and back via LL hide and North Hide. 18:07.
40 Swallow: Possibly a big under count.C4-500 hitundines in rain. Many sand Martins but swallows much more obvious today. A few house Martins noted. 18:07.
450 Black-headed Gull: ll. Large numbers resting and feeding on Thames fields and pit itself. 18:07.
19 Common Gull: Good number here. Notably over half = 1st cycle. 18:07.
