As an approximate count, around 70 egrets on the Queen Pool Island this morning, probably more given some are on nests hidden in the vegetation. Probably the most I've seen at one time. At least 20 Cattle Egrets, the rest Little Egrets. The Little Egrets have clearly had a good breeding season so far and the Cattle Egrets look set to follow suit.
Walked past the island y'day morning but my old age & lazines didn't register more than 8-12 white birds! Maybe next time I'll sit with calm from each side of the island & see rather more!
