Wroxton: 10th April

Ring Ouzel (male) at Padsdon Bottom, near Wroxton SP402407 (for 2nd day per Tim and Tony Clark). Seen towards the bottom of valley where it opens out into a broad grassy area, generally in shrubbery by stream but spent a long while at the top of the largest ivy covered ash tree. Also 6+ Willow Warblers.

Shelduck still present on flooded field off Ironstone Lane on the 8th (per Allan Jones)

  1. Haven't got OS map. Know Wroxton quite well but don't know where that is. Any possibility of some directions?

  2. Going west out of Wroxton (on A422) take the first left towards Shutford (now going south). The footpath for Padsdon Bottom starts near Wroxton Mill going east from the road (left hand side of the road). Where the path splits take the left hand path (to go north east) towards Wroxton. I haven't been and don't know the road that well so I am not sure what parking is like along there. Please park carefully and do not block gates etc. I hope that helps.
