Standlake Pit 60

Notice to Pit 60 (Standlake Common) key holders

This is a polite reminder that the parking area outside the Langley’s Lane hide is for Blue Badge holders only, or those accessing the site for management purposes with prior agreement from LWVP.
Access to the hides for key holders without a Blue Badge should be via public footpaths only. A map showing public footpaths and bridleways can be found here:

Any queries, please get in touch.

  1. May I also remind all birdwatchers that Shifford Lane is a RESTRICTED BYWAY which means there should be no vehicular access except for those on official business , i.e. SSE accessing their substation. The deterioration in the track this winter has undone all the good done by the SSE's repairs last spring. This makes it increasingly unpleasant for walkers especially children in prams and on small bicycles.

  2. I do hope that this rule is not being applied with unnecessary harshness simply to target individuals, who for obvious and genuine reasons, would be unable to access the Langley hide without adjacent parking being available.
