  1. Hello

Where is the best place to view the gravel pits at Appleford? Assume it is from the road but is there a particularly good spot.

    Thank you

    Graeme

  2. Hi Graeme, you can view pretty much all of the site from the single track road that runs adjacent to the main pit and the pylons.

  3. Hi Badger

Thanks for that. Is it the road that is on the left if you were coming from Appleford. Street view shows it with mesh fence and danger signs or I'd it the lane opposite heading towards the Thames? Where do you park? Thank you so much again - a site I keep wanting to do and haven't got to you yet - with my new allowed freedom I may treat myself!

    Kind regards

    Graeme

    1. If coming in from Sutton Courtenay, there's a single track public road on your left that runs adjacent to the pit below the row of pylons, or
continue towards Appleford until you reach a sharp left hand bend,at the bend, there is parking for a few cars in front of a set of old metal gates.
Here there is a raised footpath from which you can also view the pits. There is no public access anywhere within the site.
      Good luck 👍🏻
