Letcombe Regis 9th December

Courtesy of Ewan Urquhart

Great Bustard back in the original field just east of the village late afternoon.
Park on Manor Field OX12 9JG and follow footpath east to view field on left.

The bird spent most of the day in the field to the west of the King Alfred School OX12 9DU
West site and viewable from the A417 (per Nick Lowton et al).

  1. I’d love to know if it is still there before I set off at 1:00 if anyone can help?

  2. Sadly this has been misreported by the news services. The bird is in the field to the west of the King Alfred School West site and viewable from the A417. Still present at 13:50

  3. So is that OX12 9DU beside Challow Road to the NE of Letcombe Regis at SU 385880?

    1. That's correct Peter. The field directly to the west of the King Alfred's Academy West Site. View from the A417 - there is a large dip in the field however which may mean the bird is out of sight. The bottom of the field can be viewed from Ickelton Rd or from the allotments south of Warmans Close.
