25 Grey Partridge: A large covey 25, (poss 30) exploded from the rough-vegetated strip S of the pylon, flying N to the road and over the fence. A couple of singles had flown a few minutes earlier, but we must have walked right past the main covey! SU585846. 12:10.
4 Stonechat: At least 4 x birds on the (electric!) fence, posts, and the immedaite vegetation around the sheep 'paddock', just N of Halfpenny Lane. A few hundred yards from the house, we now seem to encounter them almost everywhere! SU588850. 11:45.
