The Iceland Gull arrived
earlier this evening and was much closer (by Farmoor roost standards at least).
It’s one of those tricky individuals and assessing plumage detail in the
failing light wasn’t easy. Assuming this is the same as last night’s very
distant bird the apparent bi-coloured bill (actually quite a sharply defined dark tip) and pallid appearance actually suggest second winter, although the eye looked very dark as in juvenile/1st winter….
Also a single adult summer Mediterranean Gull
