Just to advise that, this year, Ady State and I are conducting breeding wader surveys at the reserve as part of Natural England/BBOWT Thames Wader Survey. All relevant protocols, with the birds' welfare as priority, are being followed. Pls note that the survey requires us to access the shores of the reserve and surrounding private fields. The landowner has kindly agreed to this but, otherwise, no public access is permitted and the reserve should be watched from the hides. Our visits will be time-limited but apologies in advance for any disturbance of birders' viewing. Hopefully, the results will contribute to the continued management of the reserve.
