You do not have to pay. There is a footpath just South and opposite the Black Prince pub on Manor Rd Woodstock. Walk down the driveway and through the gate, turn right and follow path round lake until you see the column of Victory then head uphill to the plantation to the right of the column. Check it out on Google Maps and Gareth's 27th November post on this blog. Patience is needed to see them. Best to find them in flight.
